\\ into the morning--
two more songs came out of last night. i've been feeling proficient, really elated and just -good-.
one, i've been writing for a few days. the other is just starting to flesh itself out.
let me give you the run down:
a bible toting man with a gun in a briefcase
shot his woman dead on the side of a freeway
and in his right hand, were apostles
the devil kept his left, with a cocked gun
there ain't no use for his children to be crying
cause he finished up the job in the name of the messiah
the majesty of love brought him down to the precipous
to bathe in absolutions; with the rest of us.
he kept his tie on straight when he knew she'd been cheating
and didn't raise his fists until she started leaving
now, behind his lonely bars, annointed for the last time
his last breath on earth found forgiveness to set his body down.
--aidan knight.
i thought it was appropriate to finish it on easter, because of it's heavy,
human vs. higher beings & ideals. i have no idea where the song came from.
odd. even more odd is the rythmn to the verse. its slow too.
and another song is still in progress. but i like where it is going.
it's always surprising when a song takes on a new meaning;
one that you didn't originally see/intend.
aidan.
(ps. view the film "melvin goes to dinner". you will love it.)
