\\ tonal characteristics and the math elite party house

good morning 2006
i've seen so many lists and fond recollections of "the year"; i thought
it would be good to start one of my own. here's what happened in 2005
for me, aidan knight.

live music: it never ceases to amaze me, seeing incredible shows in my
little hometown. bob dylan, feist (with new buffalo and jason collett),
three inches of blood, daniel lanois (again), the campbell brothers,
ladysmith black mambazo, and more that i can't remember.

blogging: started this blog in march, learned the coding, learned the
crippling effects of blogging on my social life.
i'll never go outside again, uh.

family/friends: i've met so many new, excellent friends and acquaintances
this past year (through counting heartbeats, black tie, and also through
other, equally excellent people)
i've really gotten to know joshua and allison van leeuwen, and obviously
hope all the best for them in 2006, met some great "out of town" friends
like peter gardner (who some of you know from pg blog)
and julia wakal (who turned out to be my unexpected neighbour)
i guess with yin comes yang, as i've lost touch with a few close friends
over this year, if you come across this anytime soon (or even later)

last thoughts: this year doesn't feel any different yet.
but hopefully by the end of it, i can breathe again.
