my kitchen is SO close to being complete.
there be paint everywhere come tomorrows sun; my mother
will surely want me up for a day of work and labour.
and i will.
BUT i will also be away with my fish friends. and shrimp friends.
i love those guys.
sorry to anyone who feels left out by me taking a 19+ show.
i feel all your pain, as i am not 19 and will not get to stay any
longer than my set will allow. if anyone wants me for a show
at a more inclusive venue, let me know.
umm. last night julia wakal and i had some bowls of cereal at
the lovely shapes + sizes concert.
some tuning problems and the unbearably quiet PA in the fifty-fifty
made for a night of rock and roll. i like those kids. i like them.
and then! dante decaro played. dave of cowichan let me know
that he was the fucking dilmah*. and he was. i love stompin'
dirt kicking, chain shackled, whisky jamboree music..
and the ex-hot hot heat guitarist didn't let me down.
it's the kind of music i wish i would secretly make on the side.
so maybe i'll start doing that. who knows? this whole alt. country
thing seems to be taking off.

I was going to go to the show at the 50/50, but there shows start so damn late it frustrates me, because I have to leave at 11 to catch the bus home.
Hopefully though, I'll catch the one on the 19th, with Away R'io and Shapes And Sizes.
But I may have to work as I will have just gotten back from my vacation.
you would have liked the shapes + sizes and dante decaro show my man. really really good.
but be prepared for bad sound :(
Why arent more shows played at Little Fernwood? Thats a nice little venue, and the sound's pretty good there.
little fernwood is a gem. a fucking gem of a venue.
So why isnt it used?
generally it's not used because it's small.
